"Some days, I feel I owe Lakeside and its staff my life," says Kelly Greg.* When Kelly came to Lakeside, she was 16, pregnant, a "cutter," bipolar, angry, a drug abuser, on probation and unsupported at home. The court had ordered her to the Lakeside Girls Academy.
Kelly was in a life crisis. With intentional nurturing, counseling, and a concentrated therapeutic academic environment, Kelly graduated with her high school diploma. Post graduation, she holds a full-time job and has applied to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. Her son, born during her tenure at the Girls Academy, is thriving, and so is she.
